Care of your jewellery
Silver is, by its nature, a soft metal which is susceptible to scratches. It is therefore not advisable to wear your jewellery when doing sports or strenuous activities where it may be damaged. Perfumes, grease, deodorants and other chemicals may damage or discolour the metal and cause irreparable damage to some gemstones, so it is advisable to remove your jewellery for swimming or spa type treatments. To clean we recommend a silver cleaning cloth and advise storing silver in the box supplied or in a sealed plastic bag to slow down the tarnishing process. We do not recommend dips or abrasive cleaners as these will also damage both the silver and any gemstones. Sally Davies Silver offer a yearly clean and polish of pieces bought from us free of charge, however the customer is responsible for the cost of postage both ways. Please email [email protected] to ask about this service.

All precious metals over a certain weight sold in the UK must be hallmarked by one of the Assay Offices. For Silver of any fineness, that weight is 7.78g. Most of our jewellery is below that weight, although some is hallmarked if near to 7.78g. If you particularly require an underweight piece to be hallmarked, this can be done for an additional charge. Please contact us to discuss this.
Sally Davies Silver is registered with the London Assay Office.
